Fact: If Facebook were a country it would be the third largest country behind China and India.
My initial reaction to what I saw was is there really that many people on Facebook? Since both China and India have over 1 billion people living there. These changes are manifesting in my personal life because Facebook is how I connect with my friends that live in another country, so it's just crazy to think that are about 1 billion possible people that could friend me on Facebook. Technology plays an important role in my life because that is how I communicate with friends that live far away or people that I don't get to see as often. Of course there are other ways of communicating with them but using technology like cell phone or a computer just make it easier.



Fact: There are 31 billion searches on Google every month.
My initial reaction to what I saw was I absolutely believe it. I cannot count how many times I hear someone say "Just Google it," in a day. These changes make an impact in my life because instead of going to the library and doing research on something to answer a simple question, you can just type your question in and within two seconds you can find and answer. It is very helpful and makes projects sometimes much easier than going to the library to research something.



The number of text messages sent and received everyday, exceeds the total population of the planet.
My first initial reaction to this was to figure out how many people there are in the world. There are about 7.046 billion people in the world which means that more then 7.046 text messages are sent and received, that is a huge amount of text messages. But at the same time I also believe it because I have seen my friends send the most pointless text messages, or send texts to someone who is right next to them. This impacts my life because text messages is how I communicate with my parents to pick me up from practice, or my friends if I need help with homework, so to me text messaging is important and greatly effects my life.
