CIA World Factbook

CIA World Factbook

Yesterday in class people in the class shared the interesting facts that they found on the CIA World Factbook site. Some of the countries that were discussed were Timor Leste, Russia, United States, North Korea, Syria, and Japan. The first fact that was shared was about the percent of people in certain countires that have HIV/AIDS. We found that the top 20 countries with the highest percent were from Africa. We had a class discussion about why that was and we said overall it was because Africa doesn't have lots of present technology and there people are not educated on the subject. One of the other facts that was presented was about the country of Timor Leste. We found that about 1,000,000 million people are living in Timor Leste and we also discussed their land use. There is 10% arable land and 4% permanent crops. Which means about 85% of their land is unable to be used. One of the facts that I found was that the country of Cambodia has a 0% percent unemployment rate, which is very interesting. These are only some of the interesting facts that were found on CIA World Factbook and I'm sure there are many more to be found.
