Today in class we continued to discuss the 12 world leaders we have been for about a week. We shared some interesting facts about these leaders that some of us and occasionally Mr. Schick didn't even know. Parker shared that David Cameron, the prime minister of the United Kingdom recreationally smoked pot and did cocaine. He didn't deny it and yet he still was appointed to be the prime minister. Alyssa brought up that the prime minister of India Narendra Modi was forced into an arranged marriage at 17 years old and kept his wife a secret for 50 years. Dilma Rousseff the president of Brazil had cancer a long time ago and could that could have helped her campaign because of pity. But, it was also discussed that it also could have hurt her campaign because the people might have wanted a strong and healthy leader to take office. Lastly, Veronica brought up a very interesting point that Angela Merkel has a fear of dogs. Putin then knowing that knowledge perhaps brought his dog to a meeting to try an intimidate her. Theses were just some of the interesting facts that were shared in today's class.
