Today during class we spent time roaming CIA World Factbook on different countries population pyramids. I looked at many however Qatar's population pyramid was especially interesting. It was so thrown out of balance there were a lot more men and all bars had no pattern to them. Qatar's pyramid is like that because men become pouring into Qatar so they can work with oil, and make huge sums of money. Another reason their pyramid is so off balance because women are treated like dirt, therefore there are less women. The United Arab Emirates all basically the same way, their population pyramid is very wacky because men want to work with oil, to make huge sums of money. Greece also a weird looking pyramid, it is skinny at the bottom but it gets really wide towards the middle. 0-14 years is 14.1% of the population, 15-24 is 9.8% and 25-54 is 43.2% of the total population.Nigeria however, is basically a perfect pyramid. 0-14 years is 43.2% of their total population, that's almost half! That's really all we did in class today, searching CIA World Factbook for population pyramid's was really interesting, I'm glad we spent a class doing that.
