North Korean Leadership

North Korean Leadership

Today in class we took notes and discussed North Korean Leadership. The first president of North Korea was Kim Il Sung, he ruled from 1948 to 1994. However he wasn't president the whole time he was the Prime Minister from 1948-1972 and he was president from 1972- until death in 1994. After Kim Il Sung died his son Kim Jong Il took over, he ruled from 1994-2011. Mr. Schick told us some of the things that kids learned in school about Kim Jong Il, for example he started walking when he was three weeks old and starting talking a eight weeks old. Which is absolutely impossible, but that's what the people believe, and nobody can tell them differently. Therefore I googled more "facts" about Kim Jong Il and found that he also bowled a perfect 300 the first time he ever bowled and that he claimed to invent the hamburger. However, when Kim Jong Il died his son Kim Jong Un took his place ruling over North Korea. Many thought that he would be the one to turn things around for North Korea because he has been out of the country and was a fan of Michael Jordan, the NBA and computer games. Unfortunately, that has not been the case a couple months after taking he threatened the United States with an attack and killed many of his fathers hearse carriers. Which included his uncle and lost of his family. After discussing North Korean Leadership we starting talking about the NPT which is the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which basically means they won't use the nuclear weapons on people, they won't make any more, and they will dismantle some of the them . The countries that are included in this treaty are the United States, Russia, United Kingdom, France and China. Tomorrow we will review for the test on North Korea.
