North Korea
Today in class we started discussing North Korea and what we kind of already know regarding the country and the people's way of life. North Korea runs an oppressive government, and they are very secluded and isolated from the world. Their leader is Kim Jong-Un, and he clearly didn't like the movie put out The Interview. An oppressive government is a state run socialist government that many consider to be a Stalinist dictatorship. Their official name is Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) they claim to be the ruler of the entire Korean peninsula. North Korea is isolated by the government and they are isolated geographically. Pyongyang is the capital of North Korea and is located at 39 degrees north latitude, Bel Air MD is also located at 39 degrees north. The demilitarized zone (DMZ) is the border between North and South Korea. That was as far as we got with the notes, and we will continue tomorrow.
